Default Official statement on downtime
Hello Users -

As you can see, MyPodcast.com is now back online. I wanted to take a minute to let you know about some of the limitations to the backup process we were forced to use that have affected what you are seeing (or alternately not seeing) now on your podcast home pages.

As I have previously discussed on my front page message during the downtime, we lost a critical database that linked all episodes with their podcast owners. Unfortunately, this database was not backed up correctly in our system, and we were forced to rely on cached pages to rebuild the individual podcast pages from scratch. What you are seeing now on your page is the amount of data we had available to us here to rebuild from. If you have been podcasting with us for a long time, you will notice that most of your older episodes will likely not be available. There also may be some formatting issues on your page that you can correct at your convenience.

If you have been saving your podcasts locally, either using your own choice of recorder software or the software we make available to you, you are certainly welcome to re-upload your older podcasts to your site at any time. If you used our recorder software, you can locate the files on your machine in the "My Documents\My Podcasts\<podcastname>\Unpublished\" directory.

I would like to once again apologize for the downtime and unfortunate loss of data that we have incurred. We are currently in the process of fully auditing our system to make sure that all key data is fully backed up going forward. Once again, MyPodcast.com figures largely in the future plans for First Beat Media and it is our goal to keep the site functioning at a high level at all times. We thank you for your continued support of the site.

Best Regards,

Jay Neves
Chief Operating Officer
First Beat Media Inc.

Default So...
Something's not being said here.

I'm missing ALL of my 2008 and 2009 podcasts...are you telling me that I need to go about re-uploading the missing episodes?

Default Worst Case Scenario
I just want to know TRUTHFULLY what the results of this loss are?

My subscribers still attached? Do I have to re-upload all of my missing episodes and pictures and show descriptions?

What's still @ and what's not.

Don't sugar coat it, okay?

Yep, all gone.

That pretty much decides it for me. As all my mixes have gone bye bye and need re-upping I might as well start from scratch somewhere else.

Good luck Jay. I hope you and Romans can make a success of the site.

Hey Everyone.

Yes, we are still in the process of restoring podcasts. There are over 60,000 in total, so as you can imagine it is a large job. Right now we are working from a list of the most active and popular podcasts and they are getting taken care of first. This will go on until we have exhausted all of the cached data available to us. Hope that helps clarify a bit, I should have made mention of it in my first post.

Jay

Default Gone?
You're reloading the most popular podcasts first? DAMN! I knew I should have done more David Archuleta shows.

This sucks huge balls, but it's free, so what can I say?

Yes, you've mentioned that in every spam you've posted. Do you have some actual content to add, or are you just going to keep cutting and pasting?
